A massive .co.uk domain sold with funds being transferred today, Phones.co.uk sold for £175,000 , yes that’s GBP which is about $344,364 USD, so congrats to James on the sale and it being made public.
A great flip really seeing as it was purchased in November for £49,500.

Well if I can get just 1/10 of that for my latest .co.uk domain I would be happy
I just love it when I misspell the title or domain when making a comment
That’s a brilliant return for any .co.uk domain - there may be some value in zath.co.uk yet…then again maybe not!

Was it purchased purely for the name, or was their ranking & traffic stats along with it?
Just the name Justin although I think there would be type in traffic of around 60 per day but bought for generic value of the domain.
Excellent return for someone who obviously knows what they doing when buying a selling domain names!

The sum is really big. What for??
The sum is large because a good domain name like that can fetch the owner a lot of money if used correctly. In the sellers case he managed to flip the domain quickly. It wouldn’t surprise me if the domain flipped again this or next year at a greater price. Some day it might get developed (and would do well), but I bet it flips a few more times before then.

Congratulations on your big sales!
Don’t you think he would have got a better deal if he had waited some more? I wonder what prompted him to sell.
I was always wondering - why CO.UK?
was it hard to setup dot UK for all of British domains?…. after all it is hard as hell to type bbc - dot - co - dot - uk
isn’t it?….
I’m not sure why it’s .co.uk. I guess it was just decided at a round table a good number of years ago and it just stuck. I never really thought about it to be honest and just accepted it as a way of internet life here in the UK
I’m not sure if you are being sarcastic about it being as hard as hell to type bbc.co.uk as I really do not find it hard at all. LOL.
