That’s a wrap! Friday 27th
So what’s been going on the the world of marketing this week that may be of interest to webmasters, bloggers and entrepreneurs.
Curiously Rand has chosen to use a dog to illustrate what he can do to your search rankings either that or that dog is very pleased to see him. Seriously Rand seems like a genuinely nice and very knowledgeable guy and was invited to do a presentation to the search quality team at Google, how cool is that! It is great to see communication between search marketers & the engines, remember the thousands of comments and threads @ WMW we used to flock to in times of change and flux in days of old?
Matt had asked me to prepare a presentation for the Google search quality team. I’ve signed an NDA with Google, so I can’t go into specifics
Let’s hope he resorted to the old tried & tested whiteboard approach and left the animals at home.

I like to think I can survive without a spell checker to some extent but grammar, that raises the bar up a few levels and should be something bloggers should keep in mind. Charlie has a blog where she that tackles just those types of problems and one I bookmarked recently, after all writing really is a skill that can be constantly improved upon.

Rob mentions that there will be the first UK live domain auction, I am really hoping that this can generate some activity and sales, one one hand I want the UK domain market to boom but on the other I was speaking to my mate the other day and when I described the fact that domainers in the US are not really interested in investing in UK domains he hit the nail on the head when he said that means there must be bargains to be had! I’d have to agree with that.

Chinese.com sells for $1.1 million, pretty cheap considering the population I would have thought.

Derek Beau has been writing some very well presented posts on his blog , I would urge you to check it out, he goes into good depth in his posts such as 17 ways to expand your affiliate campaigns so it does take a few minutes to take in but I enjoy posts that really deal with a topic rather than quickly skirt around it for popularity sake, if your going to talk about a topic you may as well deal with it properly, and he does.

I actually think Chinese.com should have sold for less. It’s a much better purchase for the person who has “China.com” instead of “Chinese.com”.
I tend to agree, based on that sale price i wonder what China.com would be valued at!
Thanks for that.
I agree that chinese.com should’ve sold for more.
I also find the competition very interesting, so thanks for that too.
