Interesting reading for a Friday afternoon

Shane has done a nice survey on which are the best conferences to attend if you’re interested in earning money online.

Remember the Million Dollar Homepage? You can now buy a signed limited edition poster of it, wonder if this means Alex has spent his previous million :) .

Great post by Yaro explaining the 3 easy steps to start an Internet business.

My friend Daniel over at Daily Blog Tips has done a cool post on Linkbaits, Socialbaits and Viral Content.

This weeks game would be even more addictive if it wasn’t so difficult, Star Dominion, it’s a strategy game where you have to mine stuff, build stuff and kill stuff and I keep getting destroyed on level 2.

  2. The poster sale is definitely another ingenious idea of online marketing to monetise the site further. I doubt he has fully used up his million, but this idea can be unlimited.

  3. Milking the million dollar homepage.

It’s a great marketing device to extend that success to be fair.

It’s another easy £70K if he sells all 1000.

  4. Interesting post!

  5. Hi Al

(Good to meet you at the WordPress North get together on Friday)

Talking of conferences, is anyone going to SMX London? I was thinking about it, but the Local Search part is my main interest, so I’m not sure if it’s worth paying for the whole thing

    Cheers, Jon

    • Cool to meet you as well Jon, always good actually speaking in person. I’m not doing SMX, not sure what it’s like but if you have the money and time worth at least giving it a try,

  6. The million dollar homepage was a great idea the first time around - it was unique and had lots of attention. You could understand why people would buy a spot on it. But a poster of the page? Who in their right mind would buy one? Could luck to them of course and it may do well - but for me I wouldn’t buy one in a million years…

  7. way too many people are doing the million dollar home page now. its always like that, someone gets an idea, look at myspace and youtube, how many replica sites have been made to try and earn on the original idea.

  8. Hmm, for 70 quid my 3 year old daughter can paint you a poster that looks just like the shot of MDH! Any takers?
