A number of Links and Stuff on Friday
Cruises.co.uk has reportedly been bought by the owners of Cruise.co.uk for $1.1 million which is a great return on investment seeing as it was sold in 2006 for $184k I think the big thing here is that it ranks No.1 for cruises so yet again possible a huge value added benefit to the new owners which may have factored greatly in the asking price. This also makes me wonder what Scott’s domain www.tvs.co.uk is worth!
Microsoft shares plunge after the Yahoo bid or is it an economy thing rather than Yahoo related as a few major US companies suffer at the start of February.
Morgan is right when he questions statements like “all the best domains are taken” There is a lot of trade and value in domains from $100-$3000 and it will only get busier as more investors come into domaining feeding the resale market. Bill lists some available one’s for you.
If you’re a bit of an artist (not the drinking variety) here’s a great link bait idea by Banner Blindness.
I managed to knock one of the goals off my list, least important one mind, a blog in the top 1,000 of Technorati.
If you’re a blogger Patrick has done a nice set of 7 Time Saving tips, though Scott probably doesn’t approve as it has a number in the title .
Following on from last week we have another some what strange game, Shift.
Finally, if you’ve written or seen something that you think our readers will enjoy let us know and we’ll post it here, with credit of course.

Congrats on the top1000. Coolest Gadgets continues to amaze me. Random, tangentially related question … do you think that the “gadget blog” market is saturated? Was that ever a concern when you started CG? Just curious.
This week’s game is quite cool … and not nearly as strange.
The gadget blog is pretty saturated now, it is still possible for new blogs to enter and do well but they need to have a twist, be high quality and find stories that the other sites haven’t. When I started out I never looked at the competition, which was a fortunate mistake I think.
Congrats on the Technorati top 1000 Al, nice job and an impressive goal achieved, tick!

My bad… Drawn by the microsoft graph and missed the cruise.co.uk piece. Still it’s unbelievable.
