Welcome to Self Made Minds

Posted by Al on March 18th, 2007 .

I always find it a bit tricky doing the first post on a blog, so here goes. First off welcome to Self Made Minds, the site is run by 2 online entrepreneurs, Scott and myself Al. We’ve both quit the 9-5 rat race and make all of our earnings off our own projects, we’re not millionaires yet but well on the way :).

The purpose of this site is share some of the things we’ve done right and also mistakes we’ve made along the way, if you don’t make mistakes you’re either doing nothing or doing something wrong.

Comments and suggestions are always more than welcome.

Congrats Guys,

Welcome to the self made world! I definately bookmarked the site as I am amazed at a (well deserved) blog revenue like that. As you know I am a old school physical goods guy so I love reading about this new type of self made mind.

Good Luck Guys
yfs1

Just got the feed today (from your other CG site) and I love what I see so far. Nice to see good/bad details outlined in clear concise logic.

Best of luck to both of you :D

Thanks guys it took me six months on CG to get this many comments :)

One thing I do want to do is share the mistakes as well as the successes, learning from other peoples mistakes is so much easier than learning from your own (then again making your own is character building :) )

Good luck with your new site. I’m really intersted in reading about how you generated traffic to your site (from nothing). Yeah I know of umpteen ways of getting it, but I’m more interested in finding out what really works, and more to the point doesn’t.

Good luck with this Scott and Al, I’ve been following the first few posts and you’re giving away some priceless information on here.

Kudo for putting this in the public domain and not dressing yourselves us as some kind of AdSense ‘Gurus’ as some people with far less experience have done in the past :)

Thanks Deano and Matt. I enjoying sharing stuff I’ve learned along the way but would never call myself a guru of anything, self proclaimed gurus always sound a bit too big headed for my liking.

Thanks, Scott and Al! I am the type that has tons of ideas, but no technical know-how. Looking forward to implementing your techniques!

Just thought I’d say hi!

I’m supposed to be doing freelance work for my current employer but instead I seem to have stumbled upon your great site. Looks like you have some really interesting posts, very similar to what I would like to achieve with my blog.

By the way, I found your site by searching Google for (tips “first post on a blog”). I needed some inspiration!

Keep up the good work.

Strike one for the little(r) guys.

Keep up the good work!
